Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is much more than a personality quirk. It involves obsessions that are unwanted, intrusive thoughts/feelings/images that are highly distressing. Compulsions are behaviors that are used to decrease the distress and/or get rid of the obsession.
Obsessed or "obsessing" are common terms used to describe enjoying an experience. For example, a new show comes out, and you watch it many times, but still meet friends, go to bed, and get up the next morning to start your day.
Obsession can be more serious and take up a person's day, impeding day-to-day functioning and trigger extreme fear/disgust/anxiety.
